Glove box lock 2

I removed my glovebox lock to get the key number. I have re-installed the lock barrel, but can't work out where the other parts fit.
The parts I have are:-
1. Small saucer (fits over lock barrel)
2. Small spring (one end square, the other with prongs) with metal 'cam'
3. Small metal 'bridge' (appears to slot in end of base) with 2 small grooves (for prongs of spring?)
4. 'Tongue' with rectangular hole (to fit metal cam in 2. above?)
5. Top cover with 2 screws.

Are any parts missing?
How does the spring fit?
Which way round does the tongue go?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You've actually listed the parts in the order they should be re-fitted and I don't think anything is missing.

The metal cam has two spindle protrusions which slot into the recesses in the lock case. It's orientated is such that the cam and square spring end rest over the 'saucer'. The two free spring ends pointing upwards the other side of the recesses.

Next fit the metal bridge which also slots into the recesses locking in the metal cam piece. The free spring ends rest against this bridge.

The square spring end and upper cam should both fit within the rectangular hole in the latch or 'tongue'. The lower cam is against the 'saucer'.

Hopefully that all makes sense when you look at the parts!

I should also have added that the chamfered side of the latch is uppermost, so the chamfered edge hits the strike plate when closing the lid

Many thanks for your very clear instructions, which I duly followed. I am now able to lock the glovebox for the first time for many years as I proved when I managed to lock it with my only key inside!

Another lesson learned.

Anyway, back in business now. Thank you for your help for which I am very grateful. Without it I would have been stuck.
