I live in North East Florida, I have had a problem with my jag clunking out or starting fine then after being ran for an hour and then turned off for about and hour and a half it wont start back up. The carbs have been rebuilt and we have a new reopus system in the car. What else could it be? We think the spark plugs have got some wear to them or have gotten wet and the spark isn't fully there. Is there anything you guys can suggest? The car did sit for a good bit and has finally started running just this year. Could it be some gunk in the fuel tank?

Also, again I live in Florida so its very hot and humid. Any suggestions on how to run the car in this heat would be great!

First thing to check is the fuel tank sump filter. If the car has been standing rust and other debris will have settled in the tank. As you drive the car it will become churned up with the fuel but when you stop it will sediment out and could be blocking the filter.

Just point your mouse on and click on the link I provided in red in the above post and it will take you straight to it. You can also use the Forum search function e.g. to find that thread I typed in: fuel AND filter (note the capitals which tells the system to look for both words together)

Another hazard in hot and humid climates, Florida being a classical example, is that fungal growth may occur in the fuel tanks. This is a particular hazard in aviation but I think it can apply to cars as well . A good flush out of the tank may be a good idea - you can also inspect a reasonable amount of the interior by taking off the top cover which holds the gauge sender etc, but make sure you preserve the gasket or use a new one
