What happened to Collector's Corner?

I think that's what it was called - the one with the postcards etc. Not exactly mainstream technical, and a bit too much 'bodywork' on display occasionally, perhaps, but it was a quirky little bit of the site here.

Was there a copyright issue, or did someone complain?

It is only visible to registered members so you need to be logged on, otherwise it becomes invisible. I did it to prevent Google bots from scanning it to avoid problems like you suggest!
