Hello all.
I would like to make the 2 stoneguards, numbers 23 and 26 on the picture (parts # BD20048 and BD274427) as they are missing on my car.
By chance does anybody have the measures/template or blueprint for these two parts?
Many thanks in advance.

They are not very easy to make. I tried and failed to make a decent job of it, and eventually I found that Hutsons in Bradford could supply them

To save you a huge amount of bother and to get a decent job Robey's, SNGB or Hutson sell them and they are cheap enough to make you want to buy not make.

Some nice people sent me the accurate templates. So I do not need further information. Thanks

St?phane
You are missing a piece. There is a cover plate on the 4.2's which goes over the oblong cut-out, held in place by a screw going into a nylon nut. Should be easy enough to make from the picture alone.

Thanks David. By any chance do you have a picture of it in situ?
I will close the aperture with a removable part as I have a spin on/off oil filter fitted.

Ahem, Pete my old mate I just happen to have a set made out of ali. Someone sent me the patterns for them and the heat shields off a 2+2 and when I told him how much I never heard back so they might be for sale if I don't hear back soon.

Well Dave apparently you didn't follow your own recommendations: "To save you a huge amount of bother and to get a decent job Robey's, SNGB or Hutson sell them and they are cheap enough to make you want to buy not make." :D

I wouldn't make them for my car because my car has vents in, the 2+2 ones I have as a pattern don't. I was only doing it as a favour in a job lot of heat shields.
How much do they cost new? I don't know but at my works rate of over ?30 / hr plus material costs, it's just not worth the effort.

You are right Dave and I agree.
In my case the work rate is 0 ?/ hr and I spent about 23 ? for a 600x1000 mm aluminium sheet. So it was economically viable although that was not the main consideration for doing it myself.
