Repatriated a 4.2 FHC some years ago and recently completed a full restoration including conversion to RHD. As you are probably aware, there are many details to be covered when converting to RHD. I found out the hard way, so glad to share with you. I'm located west of Preston.

Hi Mace,
Like yourself and Chris (cgarside) I am restoring a 4.2 series one from the US and converting to rhd. Two and a half years in and the end is in sight, just got the chrome back and the interior is on it's way.
Also like Chris I am also west of Preston (well north west ish).

Mark. I have a big workshop there but its used for maintaining all my machinery by my guys and I dont live there. For many years I lost interest and didnt do much to cars but now I've got the bug back but I only really play around with the easy bits now and leave the hard work to the experts! I finished my Lanchester last winter, got good at interiors and doing my E type interior now while my mate is doing the body with my assistance. Cheers Ian

Ian ,
Suppose we want it a little easier as we get bit older!, seem to have less time now. I am going to use some other specialists as well or it will take about 10 years ? .
Did you buy a interior trim kit for E .
. Thanks Mark

No, I am restoring the original interior except the carpets. I love to see cars with fresh paint and mechanicals, but you cant beat the patina on a lovely original interior can you?
I have bought new carpets for mine (aldridge trimming) as the ones I had were not original and were u/s. I made my own Lanchester carpets last year including the sewing/edging which was stupidly difficult and it took many attempts to get them right so it was so easy to buy new carpets for the E.
I dont know what your interior is like but the more you can restore and retain the better, it's actually quite easy making your own trim panels etc except when it comes to the leather and I have found a super local guy who does mine el cheapo.
