Whoops, I bought another E

Found this about a mile from home languishing in a barn.

Well you can imagine how I felt when I saw it dying there with its footwells 4" deep in water.....Well at least i knew the floors hadn't rotted out.

The guy had owned it for 30 years and started it up once a year since its was taken off the road some 9 yrs ago

It's a 62 3.8 with low owners and the owner had left absolutely everything as original except the fan......still positive earth, mustn't forget.

Now what?

Imagine what the car would look like had the barn been in a dry state of the US instead of humid, cold Britain.....
Interesting project and probably not a bad car to start with, providing the purchase price was reasonable.

I really like that. What a find. Will pop along and see it soon Lee as discussed. I do like Primrose, I recall the trendy local Photographer in my home town having a Primrose 4.2 FHC in the mid 60's along with a Jason King moustache , Paisley shirts and cracking looking birds. Now I remember what turned me onto E types after all. Nice to see a proper UK car on a proper period UK plate rather than a reissued Scottish plate so many imports are on

Barn finds are like stumbling onto buried treasure. Nice to see one that's apparently an original RHD car and rust-free to boot. Congratulations!

Well I gues you could always get it on the road and drive this one leaving as much original patina as possible but make it road legal

Well, it's not short of rust and plop but structurally it appears to be sound.

I've taken the seats and carpet out and will renovate the seat sliders and stick the seats back in so they move and leave the carpet out.

Hopefully I will get her fired up soon and would love to hoon around in it for a while and see how I get on.
