Hi everyone. Have any of you fitted the new improved handbrake compensator and did you have any success? I,m thinking of fitting one to my 1963 3.8 and would appreciate any advice or comments. Cheers steve

Steve,
By new improved, I presume you mean the one by SNG?
Uryk does one as well and Fosseway are bringing one out.
I too would be interested in feedback on this. Having said that there was a recent thread suggesting that a properly maintained and adjusted original one works fine.

I have the prototype SNGB compensator on my car. It works fine - you get more tolerance for slop or wear in your handbrake calipers and your handbrake lever travel is reduced because you get twice the movement at the calipers for a given amount of lever travel.

But as stated elsewhere it will not improve over a properly set up standard system in terms of actual brake performance. Best regarded as an alternative which is easier to get to work well and more tolerant of wear or slop.

It's also cheaper than a new standard compensator.
