#1 Battery holding strap

Post by Garybreadner » Wed Apr 15, 2015 11:08 am

I've been told that an unstrapped battery is an MOT fail and mine is definitely not fixed in any way. Am I right in thinking this was not an original fit ( I can't find any parts for it ) and if so any advise on what I need to do.
Thanks for any advise
Regards Gary.

Battery was held down by:

a) top oblong bclamp
b) two hooked threaded rods
c) wing nuts, washers and spring Thakeray washers
d) rubber pads under clamp x2
e) battery sat in a Bakelite tray with drain hole and rubber pipe

All parts easily available from the SNGB, Hutsons etc. And yes, it is an MOT failure!
