There are 2 x joint covers,(each side) which protect the outer journal assemblies, on the drive shafts. These are 2 x Part No. C23616, cup-shaped, pop-riveted together, and a worm clip which clamped it to the drive shaft. These are shown in the exploded diagram in the Jaguar Spare Parts catalogue, but, curiously, are omitted in the (same) exploded diagram in the S1/S2/3.8/4.2 Jaguar Workshop Manual that I have.... :o ....and no mention of them in the text, anywhere....
My question is.....can someone advise me how far along the drive shaft(s), towards the hub carrier, these are supposed to be fitted....? To just cover the outer yoke, or until it actually contacts the outer yoke, or what....? Yes, I know, I should've marked the position before disassembly, but didn't..........
Any comments/advice appreciated....!!
Best regards,
Norman.
