#1 Soft top straps

Post by Echezeaux » Sat Aug 01, 2009 12:21 pm

Could someone show me, please, how to use the straps fitted at the front of the soft top to restrain it when in the folded position ?
Mines look to short ? Or the studs in the wrong location ?
Any pics would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

The straps should pass through the chrome lined round holes on the bow and down onto the press studs. These are the same studs used by the hood cover straps. If the hood cover fits correctly the studs are in the right place.

Thanks David, this is what I thought too, but here are some pics to explain the situation.
About the hood cover, well.. mine doesn't really look factory cut !!
Do you know the length of the straps, the one in the pictures ?

Many thanks in advance.

The hood straps on my car are approx 11.5" long and the bulkhead stud is 6" up from the first 'step' or crease in the hardura. If your straps are wrong SNG sell them - all cars originally had olive green leather straps so matching is not a problem.

I am cleaning the car after our trip today so will get some photos.

Here you go:

From what I can see of your car you need to push the strap down between the hood frame and the cloth and it should fit.
