#1 Help needed
Hi guys. I think I have found the car I am after and after lengthy correspondence with the seller I am pretty sure the car is good. Trouble is the car is just north of Helensburgh, Scotland and I am in Worcesterhsire and have no way of getting to see the car. The gentleman I am buying the car from may well read this and I am sure will fully understand, he too is a Jaguar enthusiast and has 3 E Types at the moment. Does anyone know of a member or associate that could for a fee or as a gesture pop over and quickly have a look at the car and just confirm that it does exist, is where it is meant to be and does belong to the seller. I am sure all is well and he is a perfectly honest guy but you do need to be careful these days. I am happy to pay a reputable company to do an inspection, I just need to know before I make the sellers bank account a great deal healthier!! If you think you might know the car and the guy in Rhu please PM me.Thanks. Simon

I think if you are buying an Etype worth some thousands you really need to get up there and see it for yourself. Why the hell risk a lot of money for the sake of travelling a relatively few miles for what must be a large investment.
Just my thoughts but you may have circumstances I am un aware of .?

#5 Help!
Sadly I am even further from helensburgh than you but always worth getting an HPI check. I know it ain't fool proof but it is one way to find out if the car is reported as stolen or has any outstanding finance etc. As Tony said, no substitute for seeing it yourself. I know the RAC used to offer vehicle inspections...and yes...I also doubt the inspector would really know what to look for in an E type but just a thought...good kuck anyway.
