#1 ideal tire pressure?

Post by brent07n » Wed Feb 01, 2017 8:10 am

Just curious on what's the general consensus for ideal pressure of tires for series 2 FHC? I used my car for street and highway driving?

I have always run mine at the standard pressures for a S2 FHC with 185 x 15 tyres = 32lbs or 2.25 bar all round
Main use is A & B roads with a little motorway work - No problems

Me also. 32 all round. I bump them up to 40 for track days.

I find 32 is fine on my tyres, but different people have suggested they prefer different pressures on certain tyres. Most also go for higher pressures for constant high speed driving. Suggest you go with 32, then try varying up and down a bit as a comparison.

Hi,

32 psi for me also with Michelin 185VR15.

For a day Track, I don't think it's a good thing to begin with a higher pressure.
On the road the tires are not much solicited so the pressure don't move a lot.
On a track it's not the same.
Lap after lap the tires will become warmer so the pressure will become higher and higher.
If you drive " hard" you'll certainly finishing the run with a very difficult car to drive with a significant loss of adhesion.

I'm not a specialist for these kind of car on a track, but with my race car, I began at 13psi to finish at 19 /20 on each tires wich was the ideal pressure.

32 for everyday driving
34 for touring with a load and longer stretches on motorways

I don't do track days.
