Hello All,
I'm a relatively new member to the forum. I've been doing a lot of lurking but this is my first post. I'm restoring a '66 4.2L FHC that my father and I purchased in 1979. It has been garaged basically since then and I'm going through all systems. I've removed the rear gearbox/engine mount (using the progressively lager bolt method suggested by someone on this forum... many thanks!) and found screwed to the base plate a tab about 3/4'' by 3.5'' with two rivets attached to it. What is a mystery is what was attached to those rivets. I can't find any mention in the shop manual or spare parts guide, nor on any image on the web. Can anyone help me out? I've attempted to attach a photo so hopefully it shows up.

It is the rear mounting for the forward heatshield that has become detached.

Thanks, really appreciate it guys. I'll add the heat shield to my growing list of missing parts!

I have one on my 66, it is straight and horizontal yours appears to be bent a bit.
