#1 Bulkhead fuel line adaptor - 3.8fhc

Post by rswaffie » Fri Feb 02, 2018 1:42 pm

Hi,
Do any of you good people know what the part circled in the pic is called, what the spec is and where I might get one? Nothing on the Automec site.

Thanks
Richard

No but.... from memory if you are buying the fuel pipe kit from SNG (for example) then I think the ends come fitted with the connectors. So depending on what you are doing you might not need to but them.

Thanks Phil. I didn’t get the line from SNG but the Hutsons version has the same banjo for the filter end and a brass nut at the bulkhead end. The setup doesn’t look like it would create a good enough seal at the bulkhead and I’d assumed that I’d left the original adaptor in the end of the old pipe when I threw it away. I’ll take another look at the coupling to see if it needs one.

Cheers

They work quite well. This is for the plastic fuel pipe. If you want to use a steel pipe instead just take the female fitting with you to a brake place and get them to fit an olive that will seal.

Best to install the fuel pipe and tighten the fitting prior to installing the IRS.

Thanks Andrew,

The IRS is not in yet - still a bare shell except for the front brakes/suspension etc. The Barratt part shows the ribbed spigot inside a large nut that inserts into the plastic pipe. Those are the parts I don't have. The fuel line comes with just the nut on the end of the line so I'm assuming that once it's fully tightened, there must be a flare or flange on the end of the line that seals it to the threaded bulkhead connector. I'll have another look at it tonight.

Cheers

So, I've had a good look at the bulkhead end fitting and it looks like it has the required sealing face and spigot already fitted in the pipe. So, I'm happier now that it should be fine as it is.
Thanks for all the replies.
