We're quite a friendly lot around here and it would be great if your post read something like:

Hi everyone, my name is__________ and I own a __________

I live in a beautiful part of the country (Cornwall) and was wondering if there are any other E Type owners in the locality.

<Insert name here>

Really helps........

Angus

Call me suspicious but why would a brand new member post such a question? For a meet up or perhaps something more dubious
Maybe I’m getting too cynical in my old age.

Cheers

I queried a for sale post recently by someone who had joined hours before to sell items. Similarly there was no real introduction or explanation, just a link to an E bay account with low feedback.

It was suggested that my response was not welcoming enough.

The post from mikerockster would narrow the search for a car down to an area the size of Cornwall. A reply to a for sale ad would potentially give you the exact address of an E type of a particular type your part fits.

This is merely an observation and I am not suggesting for one moment that there is anything untoward about any posts or members alluded to.

Would it be possible to make posting in the for sale section dependant on a minimum post count or time as a member?

Mike, I'm assuming that is your name and that you are an E type owner or prospective one, welcome to the forum.

I'm interested to kniw if there are any owners in cornwall...ive not asked for any particulars ie postcode of where you keep your car etc...if someone does own one in Cornwall and is happy to simply reply yes...then i will happily discuss further with them my intentions of being here. If there is no one then ive no need to say any further. What i have in mind would be of interest to many jag owners and followers im sure but wanted to open the interest to fellow cornishmen.

Well I certainly do not feel very welcomed on here at all 1954etype! Nor do I feel very happy about people searching my history online and sharing it!

I assure you all there is no dubious intentions here.

Thank you for the welcome Simon

Why only share with Cornishmen? This is an E Type community, not a provincial one. If you have something of interest, then share it with all of us?

I am bound by an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) so even though I want to, I can’t say at this time.

The Cornwall connection is purely a locality thing as it would save me having to travel to the factory in Coventry.

Thanks Steve.

After some research on here I found Rothwell Engineering in Looe although I can’t find anything else online, is it still trading?

Thank you very much Steve, I appreciate that.

Everyone goes through hard times at some point in there lives and what I talked about on that business forum was perfectly legitimate and asking for advice

It’s a shame people who don’t know me have to put it up on here for all to see.
