#1 3.8 oil pump pipe suppliers?

Post by rswaffie » Tue Mar 14, 2017 9:27 pm

Hi,
I need to replace the feed and suction pipes connected to the oil pump as part of my engine rebuild. I have gone through all the usual suppliers SNG, Robey, SC, XKS but with no luck. Anyone got any suggestions for other suppliers?

Did you ever find a solution to the pump pipe suppliers? I'm desperately searching for an original delivery pipe from pump to block, suction pipe from sump to pump and plate sealing bottom of suction pipe. Do you have any suggestion?

Hi
From memory, when The Splined Hub rebuilt my engine, they put in a later oil pump with the associated hoses.

Jaguar upped the size of the pipe with the 4.2 item which matched the size of the new oil pump intake . Any 3.8 pump to block pipe is the same so check any saloon engine for spares. The sump pick up pipe is E-type only. The 3.8 pumps became unavailable many years ago - we used to modify 3.8 pick up pipes with a sleeve so they would fit the new (4.2) pumps .Why bother with doing this when you can use a 4.2 set up (pump and both pipes) it fits right on ?

I think that’s what Splined Hub did with my engine - put the later 4.2 pump and pipes in.
