I’ve had the Fosseway mirrors for a couple of years and apart from a little bit of grinding work on one small section of the mounting brackets to get a perfect fit, they have been solid.

Similar mounting arms on mine but round mirror, all courtesy of Moggie Minor shop. Can’t fault them.

As long as you install them under the felt they will be fine.

I also use bicycle inner tube rubber as part of the clamp system and haven’t had movement in 2 yrs.

They fit and hold perfectly on a FHC window frame as it is flat. On the curved OTS frame you need to grind a profile into the base and use inner tube rubber to keep them in place.

Hello.! My car has this type of mirror mounted in the bonnet. The original owner says it is how it came from new. With the car papers there is a document describing a Sebring mirror (it’s in German). I haven’t seen many cars with this kind of mirror. Could it be original to the car or perhaps dealer installed? Not sure I like it that much but if it’s really original to the car I would probably restore it and leave it. Thanks for your comments .!

Thanks David, that’s what I thought. What would be period correct for a late 67.? Talbots Berlin ?

Yes, something like a Talbot although my recommendation would be to go with one of the clip on mirrors as mentioned above.

I've also thought of mounting a mirror like that on the bonnet/wing joint to avoid drilling holes, but I think it's too far in from the edge to be able to see properly past the A pillar etc.

I have the one in post 41. Very nice mirror. Stays where you adjust it, fairly quiet(wind), good view. Attractive shape.
I had the rectangular one in the post 52 link. Very high wind noise. The shape and flat arm i imagine.
Watch out for those flat arms. Doesn’t look as nice either of course.
