#1 Does anyone have a knob like this?
I have a strange knob! The one next to the ignition.
It isn't in the handbook and I'm not sure what it does, can anyone help please?

Does your horn work by pushing down on the steering wheel centre?
When I first got my car I had a separate "horn button" on the dash as the contacts on the steering column were broken.
From what I understand, the contacts on the column are a weak spot and when they would wear, the horn would sound when turning the wheel.

Horn push still works on the wheel.
I'll do some investigation and try and chase the wires.
I'm guessing it's an after market knob then as opposed to a factory item.

Certainly aftermarket but what is the action? I bet it's a pull-push that stays in either position, not a spring return push knob.
If so, look for reversing lights or some kind of fog light or even manual fan override. On open cars the right hand rocker switch is often used for this kind of thing but since yours is already spoken for by the fitted rear window heater the PO would have had to do something else.
Is this when you gleefully discover you have an overdrive manual box? :-)

It's a weird dual action, clicks if you pull it out but has a sprung action if you push it.
I'm quite excited now to find out what it does!

The car has spent 16 years in Johannesburg South Africa so it could be some kind of anti-hijack control!
Would be cool to have side flame throwers !

I think it might be a switch that prevents the operator from posting on this forum? Anybody else still wondering?

Ha ha!
I haven't had any luck tracking down what it does yet. I can't easily get to the wiring. I will try again!
